PAWS Atlanta

Founded in 1966 as the DeKalb Humane Society, PAWS Atlanta shelters and provides care for homeless companion animals in the greater Atlanta area. We provide medical care (including spaying and neutering) to these animals and place them in safe and loving homes. PAWS Atlanta’s programs work to better the lives of animals and to educate the public of the responsibility and value of the human-animal bond. PAWS Atlanta provides shelter, food and medical care for abandoned pets, and ensures they are placed in safe, loving homes. Our mission encompasses three goals: advance the no-kill philosophy; reduce pet overpopulation through spaying or neutering; and educate the community regarding responsible and humane care of pets.
