Ronald McDonald House of Iowa City

The Ronald McDonald House of Iowa City provides a safe supportive home away from home for families with children receiving critical medical care in Iowa City. The Ronald McDonald House of Iowa City has provided a home for more than 42,000 guests since opening in July 1985. Families have come from all 99 Iowa counties, all 50 states, and 35 foreign countries. The home accommodates 32 families. The Ronald McDonald House is a safe, supportive environment for families dealing with the critical illness of a child. These families are in Iowa City because the sophisticated medical resources needed to treat their children are not available in their home communities. The House is a haven during difficult times for families.
