Sedgwick County Zoo

The 247-acre Sedgwick County Zoo opened in 1971 and has been ranked among the best zoos in the world. Home to more than 2,500 animals of nearly 500 different species, the Zoo is the number one family attraction in Kansas. The Sedgwick County Zoo participates in cooperative Species Survival Plan projects for twenty-eight animal species and are dedicated to the conservation of rare and endangered plants.
