SHARE Foundation

The SHARE Foundation is an international organization that accompanies poor communities in El Salvador as they work for economic justice, democracy and sustainable development alternatives at the local and national levels. Founded in 1981, SHARE has sent over $8 million in grants for the reconstruction of war-torn villages and a variety of grassroots self-help projects. SHARE’s advocacy helped to win $287 million in debt relief for 100,000 peasant farmers and worked to strengthen civil society’s role in the government’s post-Hurricane Mitch National Plan for Reconstruction and Transformation.
