The Shelby Humane Society’s mission is to care for homeless, abused, neglected and abandoned animals and to instill in the community an increased awareness and commitment to the responsibility of animals ownership and protection. The Shelby Humane Society was founded in 1982 and is a volunteer organization. While the Society’s activities cover a broad spectrum of animal related topics, the Shelby Humane Society enjoys a reputation of professionalism, as well as compassion. The Society offers the following programs: animal rescue; educational programs; spay and neuter services; cremation services; and placement services.
