The Anti-Cruelty Society

Founded in 1899, The Anti-Cruelty Society exists to prevent cruelty to animals and to advance humane education. We are a full service shelter, providing a wide variety of programs and services to help companion animals–and those who care for them. We house unwanted and abused animals which are either adopted or humanely destroyed. The ACS also provides veterinary care for adopted animals to those who cannot afford care. We also publish newsletters and educational pamphlets for donors and conduct dog obedience classes.
