The Hope Foundation was established in 1992 by the Southwest Oncology Group in order to support the increasing financial and awareness needs for the cancer research and trials of The Southwest Oncology Group. The organization was renamed to better represent the mission of the Foundation in providing hope for all those touched by cancer. The Foundation’s vision is to continue its efforts in support of the treatment, prevention, and eventual eradication of all cancer. The statistics show how important research and progress are- 1.5 million people diagnosed with cancer every year, 1,500 of whom will die every day from cancer.
