The Women’s Shelter (TWS) is committed to reducing family violence through services which shelter victims, educate the community, and support non-abusive, self-reliant families. TWS began as a place of respite for 13 victims and their children. It’s now a strongly woven net of comprehensive services that helps victims become survivors. TWS removes barriers to successful, non-violent, independent living. We’ve developed collaborative services that interface with police, medical personnel, educators, ministers and others who encounter victims daily. TWS not only intervenes- we prevent domestic violence from replicating itself in the next generation through our educational programs in 17 area school districts and hundreds of community organizations.
