United Way for the Greater New Orleans Area’s mission is to increase the organized capacity of people to be independent and self-sufficient. Our vision is to position the United Way system in an effort to strengthen the community’s ability to impact its own problems. The United Way is a delicately balanced system of donors’ desires, volunteers’ values and agencies’ operations focused on clients’ needs. We focus on what matters – – investing in making our community a better place to live, work and raise our families. Through our network of health and human care agencies, we help local people in need nearly 700,000 times a year. We also focus on solutions for our community’s most pressing problems.
