Founded in 1971, the West Suburban Humane Society (WSHS) is dedicated to operating an animal shelter for the purpose of finding safe, permanent, compatible homes through adoption of domestic dogs and cats. We are committed to educating and encouraging the public in the humane and responsible care of dogs and cats. We believe in educating the community on humane and responsible cat and dog care as a means of ending the unnecessary euthanasia of adoptable companion animals. WSHS believes in controlling pet overpopulation by spaying and neutering all animals in our care and encouraging pet owners to do the same.
