Westside Food Bank is a community-based organization which is recognized as a model food bank, one of the largest in the country. Our main facility in Surprise, Arizona, was the first in the United States to be designed and constructed as a food bank. In 2003, nearly 30 million pounds of emergency and supplemental food were distributed from Westside Food Bank and its affiliates to individuals and nonprofit agencies in Arizona. Westside, “where hope’s door is always open,” obtains food from those willing to share it and delivers it to those who really need it. Our service areas include Phoenix and the western communities of Maricopa County, in addition to other communities throughout 13 of Arizona’s 15 counties.
