Wildlife Center of Virginia

The Wildlife Center of Virginia (WCV), a hospital for native wild animals, teaches the world to care about and care for wildlife and the environment. WCV has a diverse array of programs including: sophisticated clinical care of injured and orphaned wildlife; award winning conservation education for the public; professional training in wildlife medicine and conservation; participation with government and academic partners to improve wildlife policy; and data collection/clinical study to better understand the link between wildlife health and human health. During 2004, over 2,600 wild patients were admitted for care and about 45,000 people were reached with education programs.
