Living in an immigrant community you will work to build relationships through developing life experiences together that give you opportunities to live out Christ’s love among them.
Working through local churches and our mission staff – teaching English will give you a platform to meet newcomers to Canada and help them learn English which they need for survival in their new country. From these opportunities you will be able to develop other situations for them to practice conversational English and build significant relationships. Living right in their community will provide a wide variety of opportunities with all ages to meet people and build relationships. As God opens doors, and with staff coaching, you’ll work to move these relationships into talking about what you believe and your faith in Jesus Christ. Training in TESOL/ESL is very helpful, but is not required.
